1. The student driven campus design project what a project that we started at the end of spring break. In this project we started off by getting split up into groups that the teachers thought would have a good balance. We learned how to do empathy interviews. Striving to understand not confirm. We started messing around with campus designs. We were given the task to create a beautiful campus design for our new school. We had to create a poster that consisted of 5 pieces of evidence. these pieces were the proposal, the campus blueprint, the budget, a shared space, and a blueprint for that shared space.
2.In this project my group mainly worked on the 3D rendering. I learned many things about Photoshop and SketchUp. I was familiar with Photoshop but never used it for a 3D design. At first it was a bit of a challenge to learn how to use SketchUp in the beginning. I downloaded it onto my computer so I could spend time outside of school working on it. I took an interest in to this. this could be an option for a future career.
3. My group consisted of Sage, Alex, Kealy, and myself. My group worked really well together. We hardly fought, and It seemed like we were always on the same page. the one hiccup we had was there was always someone in our group that wasn't there or was sick. Even if everyone was there there was still not a full participation. I still enjoyed working with my group.
4. I believe it is very important to have a say in our school design. it allows the students to be proud of going to school. it will make kids want to go to school. if schools had things that kids enjoyed and were fun and a happy environment you would see a lot more participation. I feel that if Animas gets a new school it will be a big benefit and make a difference on the community of Animas and Durango.
